Nicole & Jim – The Franklin Plaza
November 4, 2009 – 1:25 pmEveryone knows that winter in upstate New York can be challenging. So, when planning a winter wedding the couple (especially the bride) has to adopt a “whatever happens” type of mindset. You’ll hear various wedding vendors tell an occasional story about the wedding they did during the “great blizzard” of 98, or the incredible ice storm of 2008. However, in my experience winter weddings are generally cool. They usually turn out just fine. In fact, winter weddings offer an entirely different set of visual opportunities than spring, summer, or even autumn events. Nicole and Jim were married on a tranquil January afternoon. By the time they exited the church to head to their reception, the sun was just beginning to set. At the bride’s request, we stopped on a nearby street and spent lots of time in the crisp winter air, capturing many outstanding images. Just to be certain we had enough goodness, we spent even more time capturing images outside of the The Franklin Plaza. So, as we head into this winter season, just remember to stay flexible. Go with the flow, and most importantly wear your long underwear – no matter how tacky it looks! Happy Wedding Day! AL.
